314 Cherry Grove Street is part of a three-home infill project in Historic East Durham that demonstrates West 4th’s approach to Preservation + Density. Together with the adjacent Taylor Street homes, the project uses Durham’s reduced lot and small-lot home standards to introduce additional housing on an oversized corner property while preserving an existing home with five generations of local history.

The result illustrates how thoughtful infill development can add much-needed housing density while retaining the buildings and neighborhood character that contribute to Durham’s sense of place.
